In a viral video of Hardik Pandya, the new Mumbai Indians captain, the 30-year-old is seen scolding a helper or a spot boy during an ad shoot for Star Sports ahead of the IPL 2024 season.
Hardik Pandya is set to captain the Mumbai Indians for the first time in his career this season. He had moved back to the Ambani-owned franchise in the trade window ahead of the IPL 2024 auction after leading the Gujarat Titans for two seasons. He captained GT to one IPL trophy and a runner-up position. He had been with MI from 2015 to 2021.
Not only Hardik return to MI, he was instated as their new skipper, replacing Rohit Sharma, ending Rohit’s decade-long rein as Mumbai’s captain during which he won 5 IPL titles for the franchise.
Talking about the viral video, Hardik Pandya can be seen talking to a helper while apparently doing an ad shoot for broadcaster Star Sports for the IPL 2024 season.
In the video, the helper has served Hardik with Jalebis, but the all-rounder refuses to eat it and keeps throwing tantrums. He demands to talk with his personal chef and his nutritionist.

Meanwhile, Hardik is recovering from an ankle injury that he sustained during the World Cup 2023 in a match against Bangladesh in Pune. He has missed all cricket action since then and will make his comeback in the IPL.
His recovery is on the right path as he recently played in a 20-over practice match at NCA’s facility in Alur, near Bangalore, under the supervision of National Cricket Academy physios and trainers.
He will undergo another round of conditioning and match-simulation drills on Thursday and this will continue till early March before he links up with the Mumbai Indians coaching staff and other players for a camp.
Even though Hardik is the new MI captain, Rohit Sharma has been confirmed by Jay Shah as the India captain for the T20 World Cup in June.
