Indian bowlers were at their best in the second match of the ongoing 5-match One Day International (ODI) series between West Indies and India. In the first innings, India’s top-order, led by Ajinkya Rahane, batted brilliantly and posted an above par score for the lacklustre West Indian batting unit. India scored 310 runs in 43 overs, after 7 overs were reduced due to delay caused by bad weather conditions.

In reply, West Indies started very slowly and couldn’t find any momentum whatsoever. Only Shai Hope, who opened the innings with Kieran Powell, showed some aggression and batted well for his 81 runs off 88 balls. In his innings of 81, Hope smashed 3 towering sixes and 5 boundaries.

Coming back to India’s bowling performance, young Kuldeep Yadav, bowled with a big heart and picked three wickets for India. He leaked some runs (50 runs in 9 overs) but did his job- that was to pick wickets. Yadav mixed his deliveries brilliantly and outfoxed West Indian batsmen with his unorthodox chinaman spin. Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar also bowled well. He bowled 5 overs and took 2 wickets for just 9 runs. Watch India’s bowling performance in the second ODI here:
