Virat Kohli continues to be the face of the cricket world and the biggest selling point for any ICC event for the governing council.
The growing popularity of ‘KING’ Kohli, and his demand among the fans in marquee ICC tournament matches, was further given a strong testament when, on Friday, the ICC featured Virat Kohli in New York to reveal the India vs Pakistan fixture for the T20 World Cup 2024.
On Friday, the ICC unveiled the schedule for the 9th edition of the T20 World Cup, which will be played from June 1 to June 29, in the West Indies and the USA. But the eyes of the fans searched only for one fixture: India vs Pakistan.
India and Pakistan have been drawn together in Group A along with Ireland, Canada, and USA.
The India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled for June 9 at the Eisenhower Park stadium in New York. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 34,000 fans, down from the 90,000 seater MCG where India and Pakistan met for their T20 World Cup 2022 encounter, in which Virat Kohli played an all-time great T20 knock.
Revealing the IND vs PAK fixture in New York, the ICC featured Virat Kohli’s pic from that knock vs Pakistan at the MCG. Fans once again hailed Kohli as the “Face of world cricket”.

All of India’s first round matches will be played in the USA – three in New York and one in Florida.
There are four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will proceed to the Super 8 round, where two groups will be made of four teams each. The top two teams from those groups will enter the semi-finals.

Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, USA
Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal
