India registered a comprehensive victory over New Zealand in the first Test of the ongoing Paytm Test series. It was a match dominated by spinners, specially Indian spinners; Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin and Jadeja took 16 wickets in the match, Ashwin being the leader with 10 wickets.
The pitch at Green Park in Kanpur started opening up after lunch on day 3 and that is where Ashwin and Jadeja made things very difficult for the Blackcaps. Jadeja took his fifth five-wicket haul in the first innings and Ashwin, who claimed his 200th Test wicket, took 6 in the second innings.
