On January 29, 2006, Irfan Pathan became the second Indian to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. On a green surface at Karachi, Ifran Pathan showed a great exhibition of swing bowling and Pakistan’s top-order had no answer to the swing generated by Irfan Pathan.
Irfan remains the only bowler in history of Test cricket to claim a hat-trick in first over of the match. Despite Irfan’s magical spell up front India went on to lose the match by a record margin of 341 runs and thereby the three match series 1-0.
