Ishant Sharma, who has often come under fire for his lackluster showing in away matches, picked up his seventh five-wicket haul in Test cricket in the first innings of the third Test of Cricbuzz Cup 2015. Ishant Sharma bowled brilliantly with new ball and rattled Sri Lanka’s top-order, in partnership with Staurt Binny. Ishant bowled consistent lines and length on a lively pitch that assisted seam bowling.

This spell will give a lot of confidence to Ishant Sharma, who the leader of India’s fast bowling unit. Ishant has bowled with alot of maturity in Test cricket in the last couple of years and the biggest improvement has been in his line of attack. As compared to earlier, Ishant bowls a lot fuller now and takes early wickets the new cherry.

Ishant struck the first blow by dismissing Upul Tharanga caught at second slip by Lokesh Rahul. Ishant bowled brilliantly in his second spell to get Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews edging behind on his first ball. Ishant kept bowling probing lines and struck second ball after lunch when he dismissed Lahiru Thirimanne for a duck. The 26-year-old right-arm speedster continued to bowl a superb line and length to wipe off the tail and complete his maiden fifer against Sri Lanka.
