The Indian team has been on a roll off late and this is because all the players are standing up and making themselves count when things are getting out of hand. One of the most important and telling aspects of this Indian team is that their fielding standards have improved considerably with captain Kohli leading from the front.

The team has some fantastic fielders, in addition to the swift Dhoni behind the stumps and they seem to be taking pride in throwing their bodies on the line in order to stop runs or to take blinders in the field.

Manish Pandey’s brilliance:

While the likes of Rohit, Rahane, Kohli and Pandya have been haring all across the field, one player who grabbed the headlines was Manish Pandey. The batsman is another one who is known for his fantastic fielding abilities but what he pulled off against the Australians in the third ODI might just end up being the catch of the series.

Standing at long-off, Pandey pulled an absolutely stunning catch off the bowling of Bumrah to get rid of Handscomb.

The ball seemed to have gotten out of reach as Manish Pandey was just near the boundary rope. Realizing that he could lose his balance and topple over, Pandey calmly threw the ball in the air before stepping out of the boundary and then stepped back in to complete the catch.

The best part about the catch was the coolness with which he pulled it off, as if it was something that he practices almost every day. India ended up comfortably winning the game by 6 wickets to wrap up the series with Pandey hitting the winning runs.

Manish Pandey is one of the best fielders in India. He is a very versatile fielder who can field at any position with the same level of efficiency.

The third ODI was a good one for Manish Pandey as he finally scored some runs and made a contribution to the chase. He scored 36 runs off 32 balls.
