VIDEO: Moeen Ali Backs Away And Thumps Pat Cummins For A Huge Six: The first day of the fifth Test in the 2023 Ashes series between England and Australia kicked off at the Oval today. In typical English conditions, Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first. Already holding a 2-1 lead in the series, Australia looked confident. They have already retained the Urn.

The day wasn’t without its share of drama and excitement. A notable incident occurred during the middle of the day’s play. Moeen Ali, the England all-rounder, was at the crease, facing Australian pacer Pat Cummins. Despite having suffered a groin injury earlier, Ali showed no signs of discomfort.

As Cummins ran in to deliver, Ali shifted his stance. He backed away from the stumps as Cummins unleashed a fuller delivery. In a classic show of audacity, Ali hoicked the ball over the mid-wicket region. The ball soared high, travelling the distance for a big six.

The spectators erupted in cheer, lauding Ali’s audacious shot. It was a sight to behold as the ball crossed the boundary. The England dressing room, initially tense, broke into applause, admiring Ali’s courage and skill.

Meanwhile, Cummins, an experienced campaigner, appreciated the shot with a wry smile. He knew he had been bested in that delivery, but the game was far from over. Despite the setback, he adjusted his line and length, persisting with his attack.

As the day progressed, both teams battled fiercely, matching each other blow for blow. The Australians, having already retained the Urn, seemed determined to win the final test and solidify their dominance. On the other hand, England, inspired by Ali’s bravery, showed no signs of backing down.

With four more days to go in this final Test, it is all to play for. Regardless of the outcome, one thing is for sure – this day will be remembered for Moeen Ali’s courageous shot off Pat Cummins.
