In a T20I match between South Africa and England, Morne Morke delivered a contender for the ‘worst ball of the century’. With Craig Kieswetter on strike, Morne Morkel fired the ball so far down the leg side that it would have missed 10 sets of stumps and it ran away for five wides.

Morkel delivered a full leg-side wide that missed the pitch and sped past the wicketkeeper for four runs as his side began its third Twenty20 against England. The delivery was his third ball of the match and was immediately compared to Steve Harmison’s first ball in the 2006/07 Ashes series. Morne Morkel conceded 16 runs in his first over as South Africa sunk to a 28-run defeat in the rain reduced match at Edgbaston.
