The upcoming IPL 2024 season is very likely going to be the last hurrah of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni, who will be nearing the age of 43 by the end of the tournament this year.
And it feels so, too: he has got the dark, long mane back; he has been using a bat with his childhood friend Paramjit Singh’s ‘Prime Sports’ shop sticker as a tribute to the assistance his friend gave Dhoni in his initial struggling period.
MS Dhoni hit the nets for the first time after his knee surgery and was spotted batting with a bat that had a ‘Prime Sports’ sticker on it – it is the name of the shop of Paramjit Singh in Ranchi.
Also, a video has gone viral on social media wherein Dhoni can be seen signing a lot of miniature bats again with ‘Prime Sports’ stickers on them.

MS Dhoni can play for another 2-3 seasons: Deepak Chahar
While it seems that this year’s IPL would be the last of MS Dhoni, CSK pacer Deepak Chahar reckons the captain can still go strong for another few years. Chahar, who has been part of CSK’s last three IPL title wins, says Dhoni is still hitting the same in the nets.
“I think he has a lot to give to cricket. He can play for another 2-3 seasons. I have seen him bat in the nets. Obviously, he had an injury that anyone can have, people at 24 have that same injury that he has,” Chahar had told PTI.
Dhoni led CSK to their fifth IPL title last year, defeating Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans in the IPL in Ahmedabad. Soon after, the CSK skipper underwent knee surgery.
