The crowd at Feroz Shah Kotla had a lot of local boys to cheer for. Shikhar Dhawan, Captain Kohli and Nehra Ji who gave his last international appearance were the famous local boys Delhi had come to see but can anyone ever steal the limelight from Mahi? MS Dhoni’s Charisma and Aura follows him wherever he goes and whenever he walks out it’s “Dhoni, Dhoni” chants all around.

Mahi’s stay at the batting crease was very short lived. He remained unbeaten having faced just two deliveries as he came to the crease only in the last over. The stage was set for him was Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan has posted a 158 run partnership to rip through the morale of Kiwis. M.S Dhoni who faced his first delivery in the very last over deposited it 20 rows back into the stands! He picked the slower one and nailed it to hit a huge six and then he was seen having smiling and having a small chat with Kohli about the shot.

The scenes at Feroz Shah Kotla were lovely throughout the game but Pandya’s catch and Dhoni’s last over maximum formed some of the greatest highlights of the match.

India went on the defeat the visitors by a comfortable margin of 53 runs and took the lead in the 3 Match series. Now the two teams would move to Rajkot to play the second game and it would be a much-needed win there for the Kiwis to keep their chances in the series alive.
