Nitish Reddy Collapsed After Suffering Brutal Blow On The Box

Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Nitish Reddy played an important role in his team’s performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

After the explosive batting display by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma at the top, Sunrisers Hyderabad required someone to maintain the momentum of the side. Nitish Kumar Reddy took the responsibility on his shoulders.

Nitish showcased some brilliant shots during his innings, but he also experienced a painful moment when he was struck by a delivery from one of the fastest bowlers in the game, Anrich Nortje. The ball hit Reddy on the protective gear, causing him considerable discomfort.

The incident took place during the second ball of the 16th over, Anrich Nortje delivered a short ball angling in towards Nitish Reddy. Reddy, trying to pull the ball, was caught off guard by the pace of the delivery. As a result, the ball struck him on the protective gear, causing him to fall to the ground in discomfort.

Despite suffering an early blow, Nitish Reddy showed resilience and made a comeback, helping to keep his team in control. However, he failed to finish the innings on a high for his team as he was dismissed in the 17th over by Kuldeep Yadav.

Kuldeep Yadav bowled a short delivery, tempting Reddy into a pull shot. However, Reddy mistimed his shot and eventually got caught by David Warner at long-on.

Nitish concluded his innings with a valuable contribution of 37 runs off 27 balls, striking at over 138. He also hit 2 fours and 2 sixes during his innings. Following his dismissal, Shahbaz Ahmed (59*) played a brilliant innings, scoring a half-century as Sunrisers Hyderabad finished their innings with a formidable total of 266 runs on the board.
