In an ODI match between Australia and Sri Lanka, there was a dismissal involving Andrew Symonds and Michael Clarke that can be called as one of the most “unluckiest” dismissals in the history of cricket.
It was after Sri Lanka won and the toss and decided to field first. Australia were in a spot of bother of losing some quick wickets and Andrew Symonds and Michael Clarke were looking a build a partnership in the middle.

During the 40th over, Sri Lanka’s off-spinner Jehan Mubarak was given the ball and took one of the most freakish dismissals in the history of cricket. Andrew Symonds hit the second ball of the over straight down the ground, but that ball unfortunately hit Michael Clarke’s boots, who was standing at the non–striker’s end, and went straight into the safe hands of Tillakaratne Dilshan at midwicket.
Andrew Symonds was shocked but he still managed to laugh at this unlucky dismissal as he walked back to pavilion. Michael Clarke couldn’t believe it and looked absolutely stunned.
