Ajinkya Rahane took a brilliant catch to dismiss Sri Lanka’s batting maestro Kumar Sangakkara in the first innings of his final Test match. There was a huge build-up around ‘Ashwin vs Sangakkara’ battle as Ashwin had dismissed Sangakkara twice in the first Test of the series. Ashwin, who has been India’s best bowler in the series, bowled very tight lines to Kumar Sangakkara and finally found the edge that was brilliantly taken by Ajinkya Rahane at first slip.
Rahane has emerged as a brilliant slip fielder for India in this series, after he broke the long standing world record of most catches in a Test matches by a fielder, by 8 catches in the first Test.
The best moment of the match came when the entire Indian team showed great to Kumar Sangakkara by standing in the middle and clapping for the legend.
