In the fifth and final match of the ongoing One Day International (ODI) series between India and New Zealand, Indian cricketers wore their mothers’ name on the jersey to show respect and highlight their mothers’ contribution in their respective careers.
This campaign was initiated by Star Sports and fans in India and around the world loved this gesture and applauded the initiative. Cricketers in India and around the world carry their father’s name and we always talk about the role of fathers in a cricketer’s career. But, with this initiative, Star Sports and Team India wish to highlight the role of mothers in helping them become what they are today. Watch it here:
