IPL 2017: MS Dhoni is one of the best captain in cricket history. His ability to read the game and make right moves at crucial times was his biggest strength during his captaincy days. As India’s captain, Dhoni won almost every trophy that was there to take. His started his glorious captaincy career by winning the inaugural edition of ICC World T20 in 2007 and carried it on till the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

Before the start of IPL 2017, Dhoni was sacked as captain by Rising Pune Supergiant owners and Steve Smith was announced as his replacement. Immediately after this decision was made public by RPS, there was widespread anger among Dhoni fans because they wanted to see him lead in IPL.

However, in IPL 2017, Dhoni has always been at forefront and helped Smith on the field. Dhoni is a master tactician and we saw an example during the final between Rising Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad, on Sunday.

During Mumbai Indians’ innings, Dhoni made a small change in the field that earned Pune the priced wicket of Kieron Pollard. Pollard smashed a big six off the first ball he faced and was looking dangerous for Pune.

Pollard likes playing straight and Dhoni moved Manoj Tiwary towards right and what happened on the next ball was exactly what Dhoni had planned. Pollard played a cracking stroke down the ground but it went straight into the hands of Tiwary who was placed there just seconds before the dismissal by Dhoni. Watch it here:
