New Zealand vs South Africa 2017, Third Test: New Zealand’s Tom Latham took one of the most unbelievable catches you will ever see on Day 1 of the ongoing third Test between New Zealand and South Africa.

South Africa’s captain Faf du Plessis tried to play a peddle sweep but Latham was quick to react. He anticipated the shot and moved to his right as du Plessis made contact. The ball flew around shoulder height, Latham flung out a hand and snaffled a fine catch.

The best thing about Tom Latham’s catch was his astute judgement. He moved very quickly to his right and judged the catch to perfection. Forward short leg is arguably the most difficult position to field at as it requires high level of concentration and reflexes coupled with good catching skills. Latham stretched his right arm full length and took a one-handed catch.

Latham’s catch to dismiss Faf du Plessis is surely one of the best we have ever seen and it will be remembered one as of the best forward short leg catches for years to come. Watch it here:
