Video: Virat Kohli Praises Pujara For His Dedicated Effort Between The Wickets

After having dismissed the visitors for mere 205 in the first innings of the Nagpur Test, India made the pitch seem like a run feast. After India lost KL Rahul early the onus was accepted by Murali Vijay and the new ‘Mr Dependable’ found in Cheteshwar Pujara.

Murali Vijay announced his come back with a hefty century and Pujara too hit his 14th international ton that put India in a very comfortable position in the match. Pujara and Vijay gave India a remarkable stand of209 runs. After Vijay was dismissed softly, Skipper Kohli joined Pujara at the batting crease.

Kohli too took leverage of the wonder batting wicket and hit a half century at a pretty decent pace. Now when Kohli is at crease it’s given that the running between the wickets has to be top end. Kohli would put everything into running between the wickets and also make the other batsman do so. That’s how he adds so much zeal into the team.

Kohli made Pujara run hard It’s well known that Pujara isn’t the quickest between wickets. While Kohli is a sprinter, Pujara is a tad slow but Kohli made Pujara push himself while both of them were out in the middle. In the 85th over when there an opportunity for a single the Lankan fielder overran and there were brownie runs on offer.

Kohli seeing an opportunity to run 4 runs made Pujara push real hard and Pujara responded to Kohli’s call. At the end of the day’s play both Pujara and Kohli remained unbeaten. Kohli was all praises for Pujara’s running between the wicket as the play ended for the day. The skipper was really happy with the way Pujara responded to his calls enabling the team to sneak in extra runs.
