When India were struggling to take wickets on Day 4 of the recently concluded Test match against New Zealand, India’s skipper Virat Kohli, who was standing in the outfield, was seen interacting with the crowd and telling them to get behind the team.
Test matches usually have a low turnout in India. But Virat Kohli made sure that the crowd at Eden Gardens was right behind the team during an important session of the match.
The crowd at Eden Gardens also responded brilliantly and started making more noise. Pitches and familiar conditions are the primary advantages of home matches in cricket, but the support of home fans can’t be ignored. We have seen Kohli doing this in ODI and T20 matches but this was the first time we saw him doing this in Test cricket. Watch it here:
