India vs Australia 2017: India’s skipper Virat Kohli was extremely unhappy with his counterpart Steve Smith after he looked at the dressing for confirmation regarding Decision Review System (DRS). On the fourth day of the recently concluded second Test match between India and Australia at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore, Steve Smith tried to get some advice on DRS from Australia’s dressing room after he was given out by the on-field umpire Nigel Llong. But Kohli, who was celebrating Smith’s wicket with his teammates, saw him doing that and took strong objection to it. Kohli made a complaint to the on-field umpire and Smith was immediately asked to leave the field.

In the post-match press conference, Kohli hit back strongly at Smith and accused him crossing the line.

This what he said:

“I saw that two times happening when I was batting out there,” Kohli said. “I pointed it out to the umpire as well, that it’s happened twice, that I’ve seen their players looking upstairs for confirmation, and that’s why the umpire was at him.

“When he turned back the umpire knew exactly what was going on, because we observed that, we told match referee also, and the umpires, that they’ve been doing that for the last three days and this has to stop, because there’s a line that you don’t cross on the cricket field, because sledging and playing against the opponents is different, but… I don’t want to mention the word, but it falls in that bracket. I would never do something like that on the cricket field.”
