22-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal is having a bumper start to his Test career as he notched up his second Test century, to go with two half-centuries, in his 6th Test match.
The young left-handed opener brought the flair of Brian Lara and the aggression of Virender Sehwag in the second Test match against England, in Visakhapatnam, to bring up his century in 151 balls with a stunning six to left-arm spinner Tom Hartley.
Batting on 94, Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t allow the nervousness of nearing a Test century to creep in and skipped down the pitch to launch Hartley over long-on for a maximum. He kissed his helmet, and did a bold celebration, gesturing that he was here to stay, before giving a flying kiss in the air.
The Indian dressing room, including head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma, was up on its feet, applauding this superb knock while neither of the three batters behind him – Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer – could go beyond 35, despite all getting starts.

Here’s how fans reacted to Jaiswal’s hundred:
Jaiswal, who had struck 171 on his Test debut last year against the West Indies, had missed out on a century in the first Test against England in Hyderabad, getting out for 80 runs.
But he made sure he crossed the landmark this time, required more so for his team as others around him struggled. Heading into Tea, Yashasvi Jaiswal is unbeaten on 125 runs in 185 balls, scored with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes.
