Former captain and talismanic batter Virat Kohli will go down as one of the finest players the game has ever seen and among the greatest cricketers to emerge from India. Hailed as the ‘modern legend’ of this game, Kohli has been known for breaking and making a plethora of records with his batting performances.
While his records in the limited format of the game speak volumes of his greatness as a player, however, it is in Test cricket that Kohli has created the biggest legacy for himself. In a world where everyone is crazy for T20 leagues, Virat has prioritized the Test format. He has attracted crowds to the longest format and has made team India a mighty force and dominated world cricket.
Over the years, he has put on some of his finest batting performances in the longest format of the game and has broken several big records. Irrespective of the venue, the pitch conditions, and the bowlers, it was always the bat of Virat that did most of the talking.
Hailed as the ‘run-machine’, Virat Kohli has amassed 7962 Test runs in 99 matches at an average of 50.39. His feat included a whopping seven double centuries as skipper, the most by an Indian player.
