Vinod Kambli Names Ajinkya Rahane’s Replacement For The Fourth Test

In the ongoing 5-match Test series, there have been questions raised over the forms of the Indian middle-order players, at various points. Post the third Test match, no. 3 and no. 4 have been removed from the least, however, India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is under scrutiny once again due to his inconsistent form.

Although, he played a crucial role by contributing a match-winning knock of 61-runs at the Lord’s. But his other outings were far from impressive. So far, he has scored just 95 runs in the five innings he has played.

One can’t deny the fact that Rahane’s overall Test record has been impressive and he has done a great job in his Test career but he has found himself at the receiving end of criticism. Because of his continuous failures, several players have raised questions over his place in the playing XI.

The latest one to come out and give his opinion on the matter is former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, who named the player who should replace Rahane in the playing XI.

Vinod Kambli took to his Twitter and expressed that instead of playing four fast bowlers, Ashwin should be roped in the playing XI. He also wrote that Suryakumar Yadav should replace Ashwin in the playing XI. He wrote:

#INDvENG Its time to rest Ajinkya and get @surya_14kumar instead of playing four fast bowlers get in ashwin and if i was the captain I will talk to every individual players regarding the middle order batsmen and boost their confidence”
