Virat Kohli appears to be upset about his contentious dismissal in the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Sunday (April 22).
The match began well for Virat Kohli, who scored 18 runs off just six balls. However, his innings was cut short by a high full-toss delivery from Harshit Rana in the third over. Kohli mistimed the shot, sending the ball straight back to the bowler.
The umpire signaled Kohli out immediately, but Kohli was convinced the delivery was a waist-high no-ball. He decided to review the decision, but it didn’t change anything. Even after the review, the third umpire upheld the decision, stating that Kohli was standing outside the crease.

According to ball-tracking technology, the ball would have dipped below the waist if Kohli had been inside the crease. Kohli was visibly angry with the decision and had a heated argument with the match official before leaving the field.
The day after the controversial dismissal, Virat Kohli expressed his continued disappointment with the decision by liking an Instagram post from former India batsman Mohammad Kaif. Kaif shared his thoughts on the dismissal on Monday (April 22) via an Instagram post. Sharing the picture of the moment when the ball hit Virat Kohli’s bat, Kaif wrote:
“Clear unplayable beamer gets Kohli out and a ball that passed under Dhoni’s bat declared wide. Cameras, replays, technology but still such mistakes being made. Poor umpiring.”
