Virat Kohli Becomes The Only Indian To Feature In Wisden’s Cricketers Of The Decade List

It has been a great year for ‘King’ Kohli. The year is ending on a high note for Virat as he has retained his number 1 position in ICC’s rankings. Besides this, Virat Kohli, the ‘modern-master’, has been named in the list of Top 5 cricketers of the decade by the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanac.

Virat Kohli is accompanied by four other top cricketers that include South African duo of Dale Steyn and AB de Villiers, Australia’s Steve Smith and women’s all-rounder Ellyse Perry also found a place in the list of five cricketers of the decade.

Virat Kohli has been dominating the show for his country with his masterclass globally. Looking at the numbers, it won’t be wrong to say that the decade belonged to Virat Kohli. He has scored 5,775 more international runs than anyone else in the last 10 years. Virat Kohli has arguably been the best batsman over the last decade.

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has been named captain of the Wisden Test team of the decade, while he is featuring in the ODI list as well. Wisden wrote:

Virat Kohli has amassed 7,202 runs in Tests including 27 hundred, while in the shorter format of the game, the Indian skipper has amassed 11,125 runs in ODIs and 2,633 runs in T20s. Also, Virat Kohli is the only batsman in the history of the sport to average over 50 in all three formats of the game.
