One of the greatest sporting icon ever, Virat Kohli, turned 34 on Saturday, November 5.

The former India captain is currently in Australia where he’s having a terrific T20 World Cup 2022 campaign: Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022, with 220 runs in 4 innings, raising 3 half-centuries and has been dismissed only once.

Virat Kohli’s 12-year-old goes viral on his birthday

While fans celebrated ‘King’ Kohli’s special day with innumerable tweets full of praises, love and affection for arguably the best all-format batsman, netizens also shared one of Kohli’s tweets from 2010 when a young Virat Kohli vowed to score runs and more runs for his country.

“Looking forward to scoring lots of runs for my Team..” Kohli had tweeted back in 2010.

At that time, he had represented India in the ODI format of the game and had played 23 matches, in which, with the help of two centuries and six fifties, he had scored 847 runs to his name from 23 matches.

Now, Virat Kohli has amassed 24350 international runs – second among Indians after list-topper Sachin Tendulkar and overall 6th, but none of the five above him have a better average than his 53.99. With 71 centuries, Kohli is again only behind Tendulkar’s tally of 100 hundreds, joint with Ricky Ponting.

Kohli himself had also acknowledged this tweet and ambition of his when in 2020 he posted this:

Kohli recently has regained his surreal touch and his back to his best after a couple of years of tussling with form. Not only he broke the 71st-century hoodoo in the Asia Cup, he then played an even greater and of more significance knock against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup 2022 in front of a jam-packed 90,000-strong crowd at the MCG, a knock which Kohli himself attested to be his best in T20Is for India.
