The Indian cricket team is taking on Bangladesh in the ongoing last Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2023. However, Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli hasn’t been included in the playing XI as the team management decided to test their best bench strength in a dead rubber match.

Virat Kohli Carried Drinks For His Teammates

It has to be noted that the Indian cricket team has already booked their slot for the final clash of the Asia Cup 2023. However, since Team India is playing a dead rubber against Bangladesh, the team management decided to give opportunity to the players who haven’t had many chances in recent times.

During the toss, Rohit Sharma confirmed that the team is providing game time to players who haven’t played much for the national cricket team in recent times. He said:

“We got to give game time to some other guys who haven’t played. We have made five changes. Virat, Hardik, Siraj, Bumrah and Kuldeep are out. Tilak makes his debut. Shami and Prasidh also come in. Suryakumar also gets a game,”

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Friday, September 15. The team made five changes to their playing XI from the last game. Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna, who are not part of the World Cup squad, got an opportunity to play against Bangladesh.

Besides Kohli, senior players including Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav have been rested and replaced by Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, and Prasidh Krishna in the playing XI.

Meanwhile, Kohli, who is not included in the playing XI, was seen carrying drinks on the field for other players. The sight of an Indian batting maestro serving drinks to his teammates has won the internet. Fans were left in awe of Kohli’s humble nature and took to their social media to hail him for the same.
