Virat Kohli Creates An Unwanted Record At Wankhede Stadium

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has made some of the most amazing records in his glorious career so far. However, the Indian skipper created an unwanted record on Day 1 of the ongoing 2nd Test match against New Zealand at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Virat Kohli, who was rested for the 3 T20Is and 1st Test match against the Kiwis, returned back to the Indian side but failed to make it count as he was dismissed for a 4-ball duck on his return to the Indian side in the 2nd Test match against New Zealand in Mumbai.

The stylish batsman was controversially dismissed by left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel and was immediately given out lbw by the on-field umpire. Virat went for a review, however, to his dismay the third umpire didn’t find enough evidence to overturn the call of the on-field duck. But the Indian skipper seemed to suggest that he had edged the ball.

With this duck, the Indian skipper created an unwanted record for himself in the longest format of the game. Virat now has most ducks by an Indian skipper in home Tests. He has failed to open his account in 6 innings at home now. He was sharing the top spot of this unwanted list with the legendary MAK Pataudi before the start of the Test match.

Apart from this, Virat is now the only Indian captain to register 10 ducks. During the England tour, Virat had surpassed MS Dhoni’s tally of 8 ducks in Test cricket. Now with a duck in Mumbai, Virat has created this record for himself. Former Kiwi captain Stephen Fleming is leading this unwanted list with 13 ducks as the skipper.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was a disappointed man after the controversial dismissal. He was seen fuming when he was given out by the third umpire and looked confused over the decision.
