The Indian cricket team is locking its horns with Namibia in their last game of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. This game also marks the last game of Virat Kohli as India’s T20I captain. The legendary batsman had announced that he would step down from the position of t20 captain following the T20 World Cup 2021.

However, as the Indian cricket team failed to qualify for the semi-finals, Virat won’t be able to end his T20 Captaincy on a high note. But there is no denying the fact that Virat Kohli has been a terrific leader and a great ambassador of this game.

Virat Kohli Dropped A Major Hint For Fans About India’s Next T20 Captain

It was in 2017 when Virat took over as India’s all-format skipper. Ever since then Virat Kohli has been playing the game tirelessly and has performed consistently. Virat Kohli has guided India to numerous wins in the shortest format. In fact, team India won five successive T20I wins under his captaincy.  Despite his brilliant records and incredible achievements, the Indian skipper has failed to get his hands on the prestigious ICC trophy and unfortunately, he will end his T20 Captaincy stint trophyless.

Virat Kohli also seemed pretty pleased with his stint as the skipper of the T20 team of India. During the toss session ahead of the India vs Namibia clash, Virat talked about his captaincy career and mentioned how leading the Indian team has been an absolute honor for him.

Virat also gave a major hint to the fans about the next captain as he said that Indian cricket is in safe hands and Rohit Sharma is there. He said:

“It’s been an honour to captain India and I’ve done my best. The shortest format has to give way for the longer formats. I’ve been grateful for the opportunity. It’s time for the next lot to take the team forward. Rohit has been looking on anyway, and Indian cricket is in good hands,”

Meanwhile, Virat won the toss and opted to field first in the ongoing match against Namibia in the Dubai Stadium.
