Virat Kohli Finally Reveals Why Hardik Pandya Is Not Bowling In ODIs: The England bowlers made it an unforgettable night for the Indian bowlers as they smashed them to all the corners of the ground. England batsmen dominated over the Indian bowlers from the word go as they helped their team to level the ongoing 3-match ODI series by 1-1.
All the Indian bowlers were brutally smashed by the England batsmen and they ended up conceding in excess of 50 runs — Bhuvneshwar Kumar 1/63, Prasidh Krishna 2/58, Shardul Thakur 0/54, Kuldeep Yadav 0/84, and, Krunal Pandya 0/72 respectively.
However, while Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow turned the game into a nightmare for the Indian bowlers, there was one question that popped up on everyone’s mind was Hardik Pandya’s absence as a bowler.
Hardik impressed one and all as he returned back t bowling in the T20Is against England, including his mesmerizing spell of 4/16 in the fourth match. It was expected that Kohli will use him as a bowler in the ODIs as well, however, his absence left many confused.
After the match, during the post-match interview, the Indian skipper revealed the reason behind Hardik’s absence as a bowler. He revealed that the team wants to ensure that Hardik is fit and strong for the role as he is going to play an important part of the squad. He said:
“We need to manage his body as well going forward. We need to understand where we need his skill sets with the ball along with his batting. We used him in the T20Is but it’s a bit of workload management as well. We want to ensure we have Hardik Pandya fit and strong, because he’s going to be an important part of the squad,”
Well, with the final of the World Test Championship awaiting, followed by the much-awaited T20 World Cup around the year-end, it is very important for the team to keep their most valuable players fit for big events. Meanwhile, team India will be locking their horns with England in the 3rd and last ODI match tomorrow.
