Virat Kohli Had An Adorable Moment In The Stadium With His Daughter

A video has gone viral on social media in which India’s Test skipper, Virat Kohli, was seen adorably trying to interact with his daughter, Vamika, who was sitting in the stand, during the Cape Town Test.

This happened when Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant were walking back to the dressing room at the completion of the first session on Day 3 at the Newlands Stadium.

While approaching the dressing room, Kohli saw his little daughter cheering for him from the stands. He waved at her first and stood for a few seconds while cutely making funny faces attempting to make her smile and laugh. This sweet act by the skipper has got fans talking about the special daughter-father bond as Kohli switched off after a high-intensity morning session.

Vamika, daughter of Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma, turned 1 on January 11 (Tuesday). The couple had a small party to celebrate the occasion in the presence of the team members.

Speaking about the Cape Town Test, South Africa have pulled the game in their favour by the end of Day 3. India were bowled out for 198 in their second innings, handing the hosts a target of 212.

Rishabh Pant scored a brilliant century, but no other batsman, barring Virat Kohli, could stand with him for a long time. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were the first ones to be dismissed in the first session for single-digit scores.

Pant and Kohli shared a 94-run stand – in which Pant scored 71 while 15 came from Kohli’s bat – before the skipper was dismissed. The tailenders managed to hang on for a while just allowing Pant to reach his century but the left-hander didn’t get the chance to tee off for some quick runs at the end. The young wicket-keeper now has four Test tons to his name, three of which have come outside India.

In reply, South Africa lost Aiden Markram for 16 before a 78-run stand between Dean Elgar and Keegan Petersen frustrated India. Elgar was finally dismissed for 30 by Jasprit Bumrah in the last over of the day. South Africa need 111 more runs to clinch the Test and the series, while India require 8 wickets.
