The Indian Skipper is touching the sky in terms of popularity and milestones. He has surpassed almost every batting record that ever existed and now he has surpassed the Master Blaster in Twitter popularity too. Virat’s fan base on Twitter increased from 12.9 million in 2016 to a hefty 20.8 million in 2017.

Virat Kohli is twisting the hands of every batting record and his fame is bouncing everywhere. It wouldn’t be surprising if one day he tops the Twitter list too. Can Kohli ever go past Modi Ji?

The stalwart batsman’s popularity on Twitter has increased by an enormous 61 percent between 2016 and 2017 and this makes him beat not just Sachin Tendulkar who saw a growth of 56 percent and many other celebrities in India. Kohli is in no mood to spare anyone! Kohli is now the 10th most followed Indian on Twitter.

Modi Ji tops the list

The report released also told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has topped the 2017 list of Most followed Indians on Twitter, with 37.5 million followers (increasing base by 52 percent).  Second on the list is Big B and then King Khan. Salman Khan is 4th in the list with 28.6 million followers.

Deepika the only female in top 10

Interestingly Deepika Padukone is the only female in the list of top 10 most followed people on Twitter in India. This again hints at the fact that India still takes a liking to male celebrities as compared to the females.

Deepika is the on the 7th spot in the list of Indians with most followers on Twitter.

Here’s the list of most followed Indians on Twitter:

1. Narendra Modi – 37.5 Mn
