Virat Kohli Hints At Giving Up The Number 3 Position In Limited Overs Cricket

After beating Sr Lanka in the just-concluded series, Virat Kohli added another feather to his already illustrious cap. The Indian skipper has come a long way ever since he took over the Indian captaincy. He has already achieved a lot as the Indian skipper.

Besides being the best batsman in the world, Virat Kohli is also on his way to become the best skipper. There have been many instances when Virat Kohli won our hearts with his leadership qualities.

Recently, he was at it again as he admitted that he can even tamper his batting position to support in form batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul. Talking about the same, he said:

Look, a guy in form is always good for the team. …You obviously want to have the best players available and then choose from what the combination should be for the team. There might be a possibility that all three (Rohit, Shikhar and Rahul) might play. It will be interesting to see what balance we want to take in on the field,

He added:

“Yeah, big possibility. I would be very happy to do so. Look I am not possessive about where I play. I am not insecure about where I bat,”

Furthermore, Virat Kohli said that as a skipper he is more concerned about preparing the next lot of players. Thus he is not just looking at the present but is also concerned about the future.

Being the captain of the team, it is my job to make sure that the next lot is also ready. A lot of the other people might not look at it that way, but your job as a captain is not only to look after the team right now, but also to prepare a team that you leave behind when you eventually pass it onto someone else,”
