Senior batsman Virat Kohli return to the shortest format wasn’t an ideal one as the former skipper got out for just a solitary run in the second T20I versus England on Saturday at Edgbaston.
Kohli, who had managed scores of 11 and 20 in the Edgbaston Test earlier this month and was rested from the first T20I in Southampton, replaced the in-form Deepak Hooda in the eleven for the second T20I. However, he couldn’t make this opportunity count with just a single run and gifted his wicket to debutant seamer Richard Gleeson.
India, though, weren’t hurt by Kohli’s cheap score as they registered an emphatic win by 49 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 with one match to go, which will be played on Sunday at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
Virat Kohli gets heavily trolled on his post after the match

Barely 15 minutes had passed after the game had concluded that Virat Kohli was quick to upload a post on social media. He took to Twitter to share Team India’s photo from the match and captioned it: “Nottingham Next.”
Kohli was mercilessly trolled under his post as while he has continued a poor form with the bat, his social media game has remained strong.
Here are some of the fans trolling Kohli under his latest post:
without your 1 run India would end up with 169 & England would psychologically be looking at only 160 runs on the board. Thanks

Kohli scores just 1 as question on his place rises
The walls on Virat Kohli’s place in the Indian T20I eleven keeps closing in; Kohli had replaced Hooda today, the man who smashed 33 runs in 17 balls in the first T20I, and before that had notched up a century vs Ireland.
Today, once again Kohli disappointed his fans after India had been given a rollicking start by Rohit Sharma and opening for the first time in T20Is, Rishabh Pant; the pair were rumbling at above 10 runs an over before Sharma got out to Gleeson, who then hurried Kohli for pace on his first ball, hitting the batter’s thigh pad.
Kohli got off the mark on the last ball of next over, of Moeen Ali, with a single. Gleeson came in charging for the first ball of his second over, hit length with a pacy delivery outside the off-stump. Kohli went after it looking for a big hit on the legside and top-edged it behind backward point where Dawid Malan ran behind and took a terrific diving catch.
