Indian captain Virat Kohli addressed the media before leaving for England, where Team India will defend their ICC Champions Trophy title. Captain Kohli spoke on variety of issues and answered all the questions that were asked by media, with utmost grace. Kohli also opened up about Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni. When asked about their role/importance in the team, Kohli said that they are top quality players and he doesn’t need to tell them anything.

Talking about their experience, Kohli said that it is important they get freedom to play the game they want in the middle order.

“The type of players they are, I don’t think I need to tell them anything. They have so much experience that if they are given the freedom to play the game the way they want in the middle order, I am sure they know the most in the team about how to build up the match and how to win and how to get the team out of a difficult situation,” said Virat Kohli in a press conference before leaving for ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Both, Dhoni and Yuvraj, batted brilliantly in the home ODI series against England earlier this year. Captain Kohli said that it was a delightful experience to watch them play their natural game. He also said that Yuvraj and Dhoni can lift the entire team’s confidence with their game.

“It was delightful to watch the way they opened up and played with complete freedom in the previous series against England – something which they have done in the past as well. When such experienced players play so well, they lift the entire team’s confidence. I think they are the strongest pillars of the team and the better mindset they have, the more the team will benefit,” the Indian captain added.
