Virat Kohli May Be Available For 5th Test Against England In Dharamshala: Reports

In what has come as a massive news for the Indian cricket team is that there is a slim chance that Virat Kohli may be available for the fifth Test against England. This development comes after Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma confirmed, on February 20, the birth of their son on February 15.

On Tuesday evening, the superstar Indian cricketer and his actor wife announced that they had been blessed with a baby boy, who they named Akaay, last week. The couple is reported to have been in London for the past few weeks.

Will Virat Kohli play in the 5th Test against England in Dharamsala?

Virat Kohli, who became a father on February 15, could be available for the Dharamsala Test which will start on March 7. Right now, Kohli is reported to be still in London, but the former captain may opt to make himself available for the Dharamsala Test.

While Kohli had taken leave for the entire series, since there is still considerable time left for the fifth Test, the 35-year-old could feature in Dharamsala.

Since India are likely to miss KL Rahul due to a quad injury, the potential availability of Kohli would be huge for the team as they look to continue their dominant record at home. India currently lead the Test series 2-1. After losing by 28 runs in Hyderabad, Rohit Sharma’s team produced two majorly dominant performances in Vizag and Rajkot to take a lead in the series. The fourth Test is in Ranchi, though India will miss Jasprit Bumrah as he is rested.

Talking more about Virat Kohli and Anushka, Akaay is their second child, after Vamika, who was born in January 2021.

Taking to their social media handles, the couple made a post writing, “With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world!” Anushka and Virat said.

“We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time.”
