It is being reported that Virat Kohli, who has been non-stop cricket from past so many months, will be rested for the one off T20I against Sri Lanka. Kohli is one of the fittest players in world cricket and in his glamorous career so far, he has managed to stay almost injury free.

In the last 12 months or so, India have played 43 matches across all three formats of the game and Virat Kohli has featured in 42 of them. He just missed one Test against Australia earlier this year because of a shoulder injury which he picked during the third Test of the 4-match series.

In addition to international matches, Virat Kohli also featured in 10 Indian Premier League games for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

India have a very busy schedule ahead as they will host Australia and New Zealand in quick succession. To keep Kohli fit and fresh for these two important series, Kohli might be rested for the T20I.

Now, who will lead India in his absence. It is being reported that Rohit Sharma, who is one of the successful captains in IPL history, will take the charge and lead India in the one-off T20I against Sri Lanka.

Rohit is a very experienced captain and he has the ability to stay cool under pressure and lead his troop without showing too many emotions.
