Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli is hailed as one of the best batters to have ever played the game. Kohli is a complete entertainer both on and off the field. Apart from his batting prowess, Kohli never fails to steal all the limelight with his on-field acts. He is an expert in shutting down his opponents with his aggressive verbal jabs on the cricket field.

He’s undoubtedly the undisputed king of clap backs and is known for his talent of putting his critics in their place with style. From showing the infamous middle finger to the crowd to getting into heated arguments with his opponents and umpires, Kohli has had numerous incidents on-field. However, no matter how aggressive he got on the field he never got physical.

Virat Kohli Opened Up About His Verbal Spat

Recently, Virat Kohli appeared on the Star Sports’ show ‘Rising from the Ashes’, where he opened up about his verbal banters on the field. He said that he can say anything to anyone but cannot get into physical fights. He said:

“Physical toh chance hi nahi. Koi mujhe maar ke nikal jaayega, main toh mar jaunga, usko nahi pata kya hua (No chance of a physical spat. Someone will thrash me, I’ll die and he won’t even know what happened with me). (Verbally, I can say anything but I don’t get physical on the field).”

Further, the host Jatin Sapru was quick to interrupt Kohli with a smile, “You know what the follow up question will be.”

Responding to this, Kohli said: “Munh se kuch bhi bulwalo but main physical ladai nahi karta (Verbally, I can say anything but I don’t get physical on the field),”

Virat Kohli also mentioned that he gets into verbal stuff only on-field because he is aware that the umpire will interrupt in between and separate him from the other person. Therefore, there’s no chance of them getting into a brawl.

“Yar voh bhi main ground pe karta hun, mujhe pata hai vahaan pe ladai nahi ho sakti na, vahaan pe umpire beech mein aa jaayenge na (The stuff I say, that too I do just on the field because I know that there won’t be any fight and that the umpire will eventually intervene),”

The video of the interview has gone crazily viral on the internet. Watch it here:
