Recently, during a Twitter interaction with Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, who is considered as next Dhoni for India, also rued that he has not got many chances to bat with his favorite batsman. Praising Dhoni, Pant said that Dhoni effectively lays out plans while batting and that all his partner has to do is follow Dhoni’s leads. He said:

“Though I haven’t got many chances to bat with Mahi bhai, he is my favourite batting partner because batting becomes easier when he is there at the other end. He plans for you and you simply follow it. You need not worry about anything. The way his mind works, especially during run-chases, is amazing,”,”

Besides this, Rishabh Pant also named phenomenal Indian batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Shreyas Iyer as people he enjoys batting alongside. He said:

“Virat bhai (Virat Kohli), Rohit bhai (Rohit Sharma) actually, whenever you bat with senior players, it’s a different experience altogether. Even when I am batting with Shreyas Iyer in IPL, it’s different chemistry altogether,”

While Rishabh Pant’s performances in the Indian Premier League have always been solid, on the other hand, he has often found himself at the receiving end of criticism with his stint in Indian jersey. However, despite his poor performances and bad form, Indian management has given him ‘n’ number of opportunities and has shown an ample amount of trust in him. Rishabh Pant is often regarded as the future replacement for the legend MS Dhoni in the Indian cricket team.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant would have been in action for his team Delhi Capitals if the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League had not been suspended. However, the cash-rich league has been postponed indefinitely because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
