Virat Kohli Revealed His Most Memorable Knock Against Pakistan At Asia Cup

The Indian cricket team is all set to kickstart their campaign in Asia Cup 2022 with a high-octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28th in Dubai. Coming back to the game after a break of more than a month, batting superstar Virat Kohli would hope to get his rhythm back.

Kohli hasn’t been in the best of form for a long time now. He is going through a century drought in international cricket, having scored his last century. In fact, in his last t20 encounter against England, Virat only scored just 12 runs in two games. Hence, all eyes will be on Kohli when he comes back to form with a bang against the arch-rivals.

Meanwhile, ahead of the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash, Virat Kohli revealed his one of the most memorable knocks against the arch-rivals. His best knock against Pakistan came 10 years ago at the Asia Cup 2012 when Virat scored a massive 183 runs in an innings studded with 22 fours and 2 sixes while chasing 330 runs to win.

Even after all these years, 183 remains his highest score in ODI cricket. In fact, this is also the highest individual score ever amassed by a batter in the Asia Cup. Recalling this innings in a candid interview with the BCCI.tv, Virat Kohli said he was surprised at himself after the innings. He said:

“The Asia Cup, for me, has always been memorable. Yes, the 183 definitely stands out for me personally because that was kind of a revelation for me. At 23, I could play at that level and in a big game – against Pakistan in a big chase. I kind of surprised myself, and from there, my belief grew more and more,”

He added: “The other game that was special for me, and I remember quite fondly, was against Pakistan in Bangladesh when I got 49-odd on a very tricky pitch. These are the kind of games that always stay in your memory,”
