Virat Kohli Shared An Emotional Message After AB de Villiers Announced His Retirement

South African legend AB de Villiers left his fans heartbroken after he announced his decision to hang his boots from all forms of cricket. de Villiers shared a long message for his fans, wherein he announced that he has decided to bring the curtains down on his illustrious career.

AB de Villiers shared a series of Tweets announcing his decision. In his Tweets, he shared his journey from playing the game of cricket with his older brothers in his backyard to playing for the country. He also thanked his family members, teammates, and everyone who was on this journey with him.

It has been an incredible journey, but I have decided to retire from all cricket.

Following the announcement, social media was flooded with a heartfelt messages and tributes for the legendary cricketer. However, one of the best messages came from de Villiers’ great friend and RCB teammate Virat Kohli.

AB de Villiers and Indian skipper Virat Kohli share a great bond of friendship. They are one of the most loved duos on the cricket field, having played numerous match-winning partnerships they have shared for RCB. Together, de Villiers and Virat Kohli have shared the record for the two highest partnerships registered in IPL history. In fact, AB is the second all-time highest run-scorer behind Virat Kohli.

After the Proteas legend made the announcement, Virat Kohli came up with a heartfelt message for his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB de Villiers. Virat shared a long message where he expressed how the announcement is heartbreaking for him but he knows that he would have made the best decision for himself. He wrote:

“To the best player of our times and the most inspirational person I’ve met, you can be very proud of what you’ve done and what you’ve given to RCB my brother. Our bond is beyond the game and will always be.

This hurts my heart but I know you’ve made the best decision for yourself and your family like you’ve always done. Broken heartI love you Broken heart @ABdeVilliers17″

AB de Villiers was quick to notice the Tweet and come up with a reply to it. In his reply, AB de Villiers reciprocated his love for the India skipper. He wrote:
