India’s preparations for the 2019 World Cup are already on. With Virat Kohli leading the squad, India would walk into the World Cup as one of the favorite teams. But one big challenge for team India would be to sort out the middle order.

India has been experimenting way too much with the middle order and India needs to settle for a consolidated playing XI. As per Virat Kohli, India’s core squad for the 2019 World Cup is more or less sorted. In an interview right before the first ODI between India and South Africa, the Indian captain said
“We feel that the core of players is more or less sorted (out). It’s about who takes that one particular spot (No.4), which the guys who get the opportunity need to capitalize and string in performances that convince the management and the team,”

Virat Kohli further added that
“Obviously changes can happen at any stage, you never know who is in form or not at that stage, but what I see is that the core is more or less formed,”
Virat Kohli made a very valid point when he said that players who have performed well may not perform nicely in England. He said that players must make the most of the England tour as the World Cup too would be held in England and Wales.
Virat said
“We are going to play the World Cup in England, which is going to be very different from what we get back home as well. People who might be doing well at home might necessarily not repeat their performances in England, so we will have to figure out which player’s game suits the team best in particular conditions,”
