Virat Kohli talks about two major setbacks for Team India in 2016

Indian cricket team ended the year 2016 on a high note by defeating England 4-0 in the recently concluded five-match series. India dominated England throughout the series and proved to the world why they are the number 1 Test team.

While Virat Kohli praised team’s effort in the series and congratulated his teammates on a fantastic year, he also pointed out two major setbacks that Team India had in 2016.

While recalling the fabulous year, Kohli also pointed out the two setbacks for the Indian team which came in limited-overs cricket – ODI series loss against Australia in January and the loss against West Indies in semi-final of ICC World Twenty20.

India are very young side in Test cricket and all eyes on were Virat Kohli and his captaincy before the start of the big home season. India have always been a very tough side to beat at home and it was important for Virat Kohli and his young team to live upto the expectations of fans and specially, the touring teams. And, to their credit, Team India did exactly that in the 2-match series against New Zealand and 5-match series against England. Under Kohli’s captaincy, Indian didn’t lose a single Test in 2016. India played 12 Tests in 2016 under Kohli’s captaincy  and this is how they performed in each series:

India defeated West Indies 2-0 (4-match series), New Zealand 3-0 (whitewash) and England 4-0 (five-match series).
