Virat Kohli led Team India’s running spree came to a halt today after the New Zealand cricket team defeated them by four wickets in the first of three ODI to take the lead in the three-match series by 1-0.
Though things were not in favor of New Zealand’s cricket team as their captain Kane Williamson and their coach Gary Stead were not present in the scene today. Indian cricket team pilling up a mammoth total of 347 for 4 made it more difficult for the New Zealand cricket team to emerge victorious in the just concluded match.

But New Zealand’s cricket team overcame all the obstacles and wonderfully chased the target to takedown India and register their first win of 2020.
Tom Latham-side gave a brilliant performance and gave an impactful performance in the match. Ross Taylor, Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls’s incredible performance with the bat helped their side to turn the tables for India.
Taylor gave an incredible performance and went on to score 109 runs off 84 balls. He smashed 10 fours and 4 sixes. Tom Nathan also gave a glimpse of his brilliance with the bat and scored 69 off 48 balls, smashing 8 fours and 2 sixes. He stood tall with Ross Taylor, and the duo stitched 138 to help the New Zealand cricket team win their first match.

After the match, Indian skipper Virat Kohli opened up about what went wrong from their end. He was all praises for New Zealand’s cricket team for their ‘outstanding’ performance in the match.
“An outstanding performance from New Zealand. We thought 347 was good enough, especially after the start we got with the ball. I think Tom’s innings took the game away from us,”
He added:
“We were decent in the field, we dropped one chance. We need to improve though. I got to say that the opposition played better than us today. Both new openers gave us a good start, hope they continue to do the same. Shreyas’s hundred was outstanding and KL was really good as well,”
