Virat Kohli led Team India is having a gala time in New Zealand in the ongoing tour against them. So far, team India has had a mixed outing, after white-washing the New Zealand cricket team in the five-match T20 series by 5-0, the Indian team failed to continue with their brilliance and were white-washed by New Zealand by 3-0. In the upcoming two-match Test series, it will be interesting to see which team will have the last laugh.
Ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand, Team India visited the Indian High Commission in Wellington on Wednesday. BCCI via their official social media handles shared a short video from the team’s visit to the high commission.
In the video, the Indian skipper can be seen giving a speech where he can be seen talking about the friendly relations between India and New Zealand’s cricket teams. He said:
“We just heard a few words about mutual respect and admiration between the two countries, I couldn’t agree more, you talked about the number 2 spot but if we have to share our number 1 spot with any other team it would be New Zealand,”

He added:
“In the last 4-5 years we have become a team who everyone wants to beat, New Zealand would be no different but the difference is that there won’t be any spite in it and that’s one reason why I can sit on the boundary line with Kane and talk about life in between a game,”
Recently, in the final T20 between India and New Zealand, skippers of both the teams took a break and were seen sitting and chatting outside the boundary rope. Talking about how they both share same ideology and mindsets, Virat said:
“Kane and I have similar mindsets, similar philosophies. It is amazing that despite being from different parts of the world, we have similar thinking and we speak the same language, we talked about life and the game,”

Earlier before the series had started, Virat Kohli was asked if Team India would be looking to avenge their world cup’s devastating defeat in the semi-final against New Zealand. To which Virat Kohli had given a heart-winning response showering praises on the New Zealand cricket team. He had said:
“Honestly, even if you think about revenge, these guys are so nice, you can’t get into that zone. We get along really well with these guys and it’s all about just being competitive on the field. They are probably one side that has set the right example for teams to play at the international level and how they should carry themselves. They are not nasty and you can tell by the way they play. We have a lot of respect for them and vice-versa. We were actually happy for them when they qualified for the finals because when you have lost you have to look at the larger picture,”
