Every time Kohli walks out to bat, he ends up scoring a record. His batting has been extraordinarily phenomenon, so much so that we often forget to talk about his captaincy. Virat Kohli is not only redefining the batting records but he is also going strength to strength as a captain.

Having defeated Sri Lanka 1-0 in the Test Series, India has now registered 9 straight test series win under Virat Kohli which equals Ricky Ponting’s record as a captain. From 2005 to 2008, the former Aussie skipper led his side to 9 consecutive test series win and now if India wins the test series at South Africa, India would set a new world record under the brilliant captaincy of Virat Kohli.

England too has 9 straight wins of test series which were achieved between 1884 and 1992. South Africa Challenge Would Be Tough But India has had a long home season this year but with the very beginning of 2018, things would change. India is all set to fly to South Africa for the long tour starting with the test series.

In South Africa neither would the pitches be as easy as in India and nor would the bowlers be as submissive as those of Sri Lanka. With AB De Villiers and Dale Steyn returning to the side and the might of Hashim Amla and Rabada, India would surely have the most difficult challenge of those they have had in a while.

The batsmen look in good form, everyone has scored runs beside Ajinkya Rahane and the bowlers too seem in a good rhythm. But these dynamics would change in South Africa and the African pitches will test characters of Indian players.

Virat Kohli Will Defeat Ricky Ponting If Indian Wins Test Series In South Africa

There is much excitement about the clash of the number one test team and second on the list. With 125 points India is first in the test rankings while South Africa is second with 111 points. In the latest ICC test rankings, Virat

Kohli has climbed to the second spot in the ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen. First on the list is Steve Smith and is 45 points ahead of Kohli. Kohli is already the first ranked batsman in ODIs and T20s.
