Virat Kohli’s Childhood Coach Reacts To Test Skipper’s Absence From Press Conference

The Indian Test captain, Virat Kohli dropped a bombshell in the pre-departure press conference, before the team departed for South Africa for the ongoing tour. In the press conference, Virat Kohli had opened up about his removal as the ODI team’s captain. However, ever since the Indian team landed in the rainbow nation, Virat hasn’t attended a single press conference so far.

Despite the completion of two Test matches, Virat hasn’t appeared in front of the media, it is either KL Rahul or head coach Rahul Dravid generally attending the press meets.

Kohli’s absence from the press conferences has triggered a debate on social media. The latest one to give his opinion on the matter is his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma, who claimed how he found it difficult to understand that the skipper is missing from the media interactions.

Well, recently, during a discussion on India News, Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma was asked about Virat Kohli’s from the press conference

“Can’t under the reason but it seems the BCCI has introduced new rules or the media manager has been told to decide who comes for the media briefing. There must be a reason why captain is not a part of the press conferences. It is difficult to understand why this change has been made or is there really a chance or is it by chance,”

Furthermore, Rajkumar was asked if the decision was made to save Virat Kohli from the media. Responding to this, Rajkumar expressed his surprise at Rahul Dravid attending the press conference instead of the skipper Virat Kohli or stand-in skipper KL Rahul. He said:

“If it was about Virat, then KL Rahul should have come to answer the questions before and after the second match but it was Dravid who came for the press conferences. It is very surprising and a new thing as captain was always a part of the events,”

Earlier, on the eve of the second Test match, Rahul Dravid claimed that Kohli has a lot of interviews to do during the Test match and is being saved for a press conference before his 100th Test match.

However, Virat Kohli was ruled out of the second Test match because of an upper back spasm because of which he will not be able to reach the milestone in the ongoing series. Virat will now reach the milestone in a Test match against Sri Lanka at Bengaluru next month.
