Delhi cricketer Vikas Tokas has suffered a horrific eye injury, which, he alleged, was sustained by a punch from a police officer. He has lodged a complaint at police headquarters for this issue demanding justice.

35-year-old Vikas Tokas is a right-arm pacer and plies his trade for Delhi in the domestic circuit. He is a former RCB teammate of Virat Kohli. Vikas Tokas was bought by RCB for 10 lakhs in IPL 2016. However, he didn’t get a chance to make his debut and was never picked up by any franchise again.

Tokas alleged that a police officer in Delhi had “misbehaved” with him on January 26. The officer also hit a punch in the face of the cricketer, but thankfully, his eye was from bursting.

Vikas Tokas has now filed a complaint with the Delhi Police Headquarters. He has made this complaint against the post in charge of Bhikaji Cama police station.

In the mail, Vikas Tokas has said that the police officer misconducted with him and also beat him up. In this, he has suffered a serious injury under his eye.

Vikas Tokas mailed the complaint to the police headquarters, saying, “I am doing this in the mail regarding the complaint of the matter which happened to me on 26 January 2022. I am a national level and IPL cricketer. I was misbehaved by the police officers on that particular day, which is condemnable. I was also punched by an officer that day, in which luckily my eyesight survived.”

Vikas Tokas, who has played 15 first-class and 11 List-A games, also sent his photo to the police along with the complaint mail. He said he’s facing “mental problems” due to this attack on him by the police officer.

He added: “I request that this matter be looked into at the earliest, because after this incident I am going through a lot of mental problems.”

Tokas has also played cricket for North Zone and Railways. He last played a domestic game in 2019, during the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament.
