What a knock! Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh made a terrific comeback as he slammed his third century in the Test format. Marsh brought up the 3-figure mark on Day 1 of the 3rd Ashes 2023 Test at Headingley, Leeds.
Mitchell Marsh made a memorable comeback:

It has to be noted that Marsh returned to the Test side after four years and he made a memorable comeback. Marsh earned the place in the Australian XI after all-rounder Cameron Green was ruled out because of a hamstring injury. Marsh played his last Test match during the 2019 Ashes at The Oval.
As the game kickstarted at Headingley, England won the toss and decided to field first. The England bowlers justified this decision by removing Australia’s top four inside 100 runs.
Yes, he walked out to bat when Australia was reeling at 85/4 in the first session but he soon turned the tables and took the game by storm. However, Marsh had some other plans. He defied all odds and took the England bowlers to all the corners of the ground.
He formed a brilliant partnership with Travis Head and took the Australian team past 200. He reached the triple-figure mark off just 102 balls in the 48th over. He struck 15 fours and 3 sixes en route to his century.
Virender Sehwag Hailed Marsh
Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with amazing reactions from fans and cricketers. Among many, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, who is still known for his batting exploits, also joined the bandwagon and hailed Marsh for his brilliant knock.
Sehwag took to his social media and penned a special Tweet for Marsh. He wrote:
