Virender Sehwag Picks Best Batting Performances Of 2019

The year is about to end in a few days. Throughout the year, the Indian cricket team entertained the fans by doing what they do best. As the year is ending on a high note for the Indian cricket team, the former Indian cricketer, Virender Sehwag, has picked the top knocks of the year.

In an exclusive video for Cricbuzz, Virender Sehwag has picked the top knocks of the year. In the video, he picked the best three innings in Tests and the best four innings in ODIs. Have a look:




Top Batting Performances in Tests:

1. Kusal Perera’s 153 vs SA, Durban Tests:




Kusal Perera played a knock of his lifetime by pulling off a miracle victory for Sri Lanka. He scored 153* runs in 200 balls.

2. Ben Stokes’ 135 runs vs Australia, Headingley Tests:

Ben Stokes had played a match-winning knock of 135 runs vs Australia during Headingley tests. He guided his side to a dramatic one-wicket win over Australia.

3. David Warner’s 335 vs Pakistan, Adelaide Tests:

David Warner scored his triple maiden century, surpassing  Sir Donald Bradman and Mark Taylor’s mark of 334.

Top Batting Performances in ODIs:

1. Thisara Perera’s 140(74) vs NZ, 2nd ODI:

Though Thesara’s knock couldn’t help his side win the match but his knock was good enough to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. He scored 140 runs in 74 balls.

2. Ben Stokes’ 84* (98) vs NZ, WC Final:

In the epic finale, Ben Stokes gave a stunning performance by pulling off an 84* from 98 balls and helped his team get their hands on the WC trophy for the first time.

3. Nathan Coulter-Nile’s 90(60) vs WI, WC:

Australia’s bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile went on to give a match-winning performance over West Indies and scored 90 off 60 balls.

4. Rohit Sharma’s 122* (144) vs SA, World Cup:

Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 122 to take India to a straightforward six-wicket win against South Africa in their opening World Cup match.
